Will a trucking company hire me as a new CDL if I had an at fault accident two years ago (rear-ended someone)? I was ticketed for following too close. My Insurance settled an “injury” claim against me by the other driver, and my car was totaled, but, ironically, the other car barely had a bumper crinkle… Prior to that and since then, I have no accidents/tickets, and only a few speeding tickets from 7 years ago.
There are jobs available. You’ll likely have better options once your last ticket or accident is 3 years old. Beware, having a rear-end accident or a ticket for following too clise after you get your CDL is about the worst thing possible on your record, other than abandonment of the truck/load.
Ive heard from more experienced drivers that dump truck driving is ALWAYS available and some drivers work on them waiting for their bad marks to age.
